Poddala quadruple murder suspected to be result of gang rivalry

Police states that information has come to light which has led them to believe that the four bodies which were discovered in Walpitawaththa, Poddala this morning are those of four suspects connected to the murder carried out at the Dixon Junction in Galle on the 25th of last month.

At present the magisterial inquest on the four bodies are said to have concluded with the bodies sent to the Karapitiya hospital for post mortem examinations.

According to police the 4 victims have been identified.

Two of the victims are believed to be residents of Athiligoda in

Bandun-godawaththa while the other two are believed to be residents of Wancha-wala in Ambalang-waththa.

According to Police Media Spokesperson SSP Prishantha Jayakodi preliminary investigations in this regard have revealed that the clash had been caused resulting in a feud between two parties.

It has been come to light that the motive of the murder carried out on the 25th of last month in the Galle town which had claimed the life of a businessman had been also executed based on a personnel vendetta.

The victim had been hacked to death while travelling on his motorcycle through the Dixon Junction in Galle.

The deceased was the brother of the late Galle Municipal Council Opposition leader Dushantha Senevirathna.
