A bus transporting school children from Sigiriya to schools in Kekirawa fell into a canal this morning at Dambulla – Randeniwewa and five students’ sustained injuries.
Police said there had been about 70 school children on the bus at the time of the accident.
Due to the bus which toppled down coming to rest against a tree, the accident which could have been far worse was prevented.
Among the group receiving treatment at the Dambulla Hospital, Police said there are three female students.
