An ambulance driver, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, was arrested after colliding with a police roadblock on Halawatha Deduru Oya Bridge. The ambulance, which belongs to the Colombo National Hospital, was reportedly on a journey to deliver a patient to Anuradhapura Hospital.
Fortunately, there were no patients in the ambulance at the time of the accident, with only two support workers present. The collision occurred while the ambulance was traveling from Puttalam to Halawatha. The impact of the crash resulted in the ambulance being taken into police custody for further investigation.
