The third season of the International League T20 (ILT20) is set to take place from January 11 to February 9, 2025, in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah.
A total of 69 players have been retained by their respective franchises, including prominent names from Sri Lanka such as Wanindu Hasaranga, Kusal Mendis, Charith Asalanka, and Dasun Shanaka.
Wanindu Hasaranga has been retained by the Desert Vipers. However, notable absentees from the Vipers' retention list include fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana.
Kusal Mendis is among the eight players retained by the Sharjah Warriors.
The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have retained 11 players, including Charith Asalanka.
Dubai Capitals have retained Dasun Shanaka and Dushmantha Chameera.
Defending champions MI Emirates have retained Kusal Perera and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth.
Each franchise has also retained two UAE players each, and there was no limit on retention of international players. Teams can now sign new players in the ongoing player acquisition window which will stay open till 15 September. The franchises will also need to complete their quota of four UAE signings after the completion of the ILT20 development tournament which will be held in October.
The third season of the ILT20 is scheduled to be played in 2025 from January 11 to February 9 in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
