The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced a scheduled 15-hour water cut affecting several areas, including Colombo and its suburbs, tomorrow (29).
The water supply will be suspended from 9.00 a.m. until 12 midnight in the following areas: Colombo, Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, Kaduwela Municipal Council area, Maharagama, Boralesgamuwa, Kolonnawa Urban Council area, and Kotikawatte-Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha area.
Residents in the Moratuwa Municipal Council area will experience low-pressure water supply during this period.
The water cut is necessitated by the suspension of power supply to the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant, due to essential maintenance by the Ceylon Electricity Board, coupled with repairs at the treatment plant itself.
The NWSDB advises residents in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements to store sufficient water for their needs during the scheduled water cut period.
