The president of the School Rugby Union has announced that the school rugby league matches have been postponed by a week. This decision follows the postponement of the scheduled match between Vidyartha and St. Peter's College in the ongoing inter-school rugby tournament.

The recent inter-school rugby tournament held at the Ratmalana Air Force Field witnessed a controversial incident during the match between  S. Thomas' College and Science College. The situation escalated when Science College players failed to score a try, leading to a dispute between the players and the referees.

Following the incident, a group of Science College supporters attacked the main referee and line referees. As a result, four injured referees were admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for treatment.

In light of this incident, the remaining matches have been postponed indefinitely, and this decision has been implemented as of today.
