The United National Party (UNP) has decided to form a common alliance with all opposition parties in preparation for upcoming elections and political challenges. This decision was made during a leadership council meeting today (23) at former President Ranil Wickremesinghe's political office on Flower Road, Colombo.
According to a statement from the former President's office, the proposal for the alliance was put forward by Wickremesinghe himself. He has instructed party officials to invite all opposition parties, including the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), to join the alliance to face future elections and political situations collectively.
