Customs Trade Unions allege that if discussions pertaining to the amendment brought forwarded to the Customs Act are unsuccessful they would resort to trade union action.
The All Island Customs Union and Custom Officers Association point out that these amendments have been introduced without making the concerned trade unions aware regarding them.
Chairman of the Custom Officers Association Uditha Jayasinghe stated that a discussion will be held with treasury officials today regarding the matter.
