The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced the updated schedule for the Women’s Asia Cup 2024, which will now take place in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, from July 19 to July 28, 2024.

In an exciting start to the tournament, India will face off against Pakistan in their first group match. The opening game will feature a clash between UAE and Nepal. The tournament's previous edition was held in Bangladesh in 2022, where India emerged victorious, claiming their seventh title by defeating Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the final. The tournament was initially scheduled for 2020 but was postponed to 2021, and eventually to 2022, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, the tournament has expanded to include eight teams, up from seven in the 2022 edition. The participating teams are India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, along with the semifinalists from the Women’s Premier Cup 2024: UAE, Malaysia, Nepal, and Thailand.

The teams have been divided into two groups. Group A includes India, Pakistan, UAE, and Nepal, while Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Malaysia. The matches will be officiated by an all-female team of referees and umpires, continuing the trend from the last edition.

Following the Women’s Asia Cup, the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be held in Bangladesh from October 3 to October 20.
