Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka – In a tragic and mysterious incident, two individuals have died after visiting the public toilet at the Nuwara Eliya Bus Station, which is managed by the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council.

According to the Chief Police Inspector of the Nuwara Eliya Headquarters Police, the first victim, 71-year-old Mohammad Imtiaz Pasal Sherab from Church Road, Nuwara Eliya, passed away inside the toilet yesterday afternoon. The second victim's details have not been disclosed, but both bodies have been sent to the forensic doctor at the Nuwara Eliya District General Hospital for post-mortem examinations.

The Chief Police Inspector noted a strong smell emanating from the toilet, which has become a focal point of the ongoing investigation. In response, the Nuwara Eliya Medical Officer of Health has collaborated with authorities to seal the toilet until further notice.

Public Health Inspector Kitsiri Herath confirmed that the men's section of the toilet has been closed, while the women's section remains open. He stated that both deceased individuals were identified as patients. The men's section will remain closed until the post-mortem examinations are completed and the results are obtained.

The investigation continues as authorities seek to determine the cause of these mysterious deaths and ensure public safety.
