Train services along the up-country railway line have been severely disrupted following the derailment of the 'Podi Menike' train near Watawala Railway Station today (28).
The incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. as the train was en route from Colombo Fort to Badulla.
According to the Nawalapitiya Railway Control Room, several wheels of the train's front engine have derailed.
