A 15-year-old boy and girl have tragically died after falling from a high-rise apartment complex in Colombo 02. The bodies of the two teenagers were discovered last night on the third floor, where the air conditioning units are installed, of the 70-floor housing complex.
Police identified the deceased boy as a resident of the Wellawatta area and the girl from Kelaniya. Both students were in grade 10 at a private school in Colombo.
Preliminary investigations revealed that after finishing school yesterday, the two went to the gym on the fifth floor of the complex, where they changed out of their school uniforms and left their bags. They were last seen heading to the 67th floor.
Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage to determine whether this was a case of suicide. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further details surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
