A Sri Lankan passenger has been arrested while attempting to smuggle a stock of jewellery out of Katunayake Airport.
The seized jewellery, weighing 996 grammes packed in four parcels, is valued at Rs 36,519,192.
The suspect was identified as a 51-year-old resident of the Pallekele area in Kandy. He had arrived at Katunayake Airport from Dubai.
