Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi has said Tehran is “serious about finding diplomatic solutions, just as we are serious about defending ourselves”.

“We are ready to reach a just solution through diplomatic channels, and at the same time we are prepared to deliver a more devastating response to any military aggression,” Araghchi added, speaking at a meeting with foreign ambassadors, the Tasnim news agency reported.

The foreign minister’s comments follow similar remarks made by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran’s parliament speaker today – which we earlier reported – that hinge on Tehran’s proposal of a seven-day roadmap to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
