Veteran musician Somapala Rathnayake passed away early this morning.
It has been reported that he was admitted to the Colombo national hospital upon sudden illness yesterday.
He was the brother of veteran singer Victor Rathnayake and was at the age of 69.
Somapala Rathnayake was the music director for several movies including, Selamuthupinna, Kauda Boley Alice, Duwana Muwan and the melody composer of many famous songs including Bilidune Daruwane.
