He has issued a statement denying reports stating that he hopes to enter the political field in Sri Lanka. Pointing out that he has worked hard to carve out a dignified and private life for himself, Vimukthi requested that the Sri Lankan media and public respect his privacy
Statment issued by Dr Vimukthi;
Recently, the media had reported that the son of a powerful political family was preparing to enter into the Sri Lankan political arena. I strongly state that I have nothing to do with those reports.
For the past 21 years, I have been working in the United Kingdom, fully dedicated to my profession as a veterinarian and to specialist training in veterinary ophthalmology.
I love my motherland. I hope to raise awareness and do social work that I think is important based on my personal abilities. But I have made it very clear that I have no intention of engaging in politics in Sri Lanka. Therefore, I urge everyone to reject the reports that I hope to be a politician in Sri Lanka in the future.
I have worked hard to live a dignified, simple and unpretentious life. I kindly request the Sri Lankan media and public to respect my privacy.
