The Hiru 'Shraddhabhi Vandana' program organized by Hiru Media Network on the occasion of the full moon Poson poya day is held centered around the historic Mahiyanganaya Rajamaha Viharaya. 

Ven. Urulewatte Dhamma Rakkhitha Thero, the Chief Incumbent of the historic Mahiyanganaya Rajamaha Viharaya, a senior member of the Asgiriya Chapter, offered the Ashtangashila at the Mahiyangana Sacred site to observe Sil.

Under the Hiru 'Shruddhabhi Vandana'  program, all arrangements are being made to conduct a number of Pinkams including Dhamma sermons and Dhamma discussions throughout the day.

The Hiru 'Shraddhabhi Vandana program and the dedication of the young to the 'Sasanaya' (priesthood) is being held today in accordance with a concept of the Chairman of Hiru Media Network  Rayynor Silva.

Twenty children will be dedicated to the Sasanaya through this initiative.

Simultaneously, an event was held yesterday afternoon, symbolizing the handing over of them to the temple before they were dedicated  to the Sasana.

Arrangements have been made to hold a 'Sangha Dakshinawa' with 150 Sangha today at the historic Mahiyanganaya Rajamaha Viharaya.

Two Samadhi Buddha statues and an Aloka Pooja Mandir erected to coincide with the Hiru 'Shruddhabhi Wandana' program will be offered by the Chairman of Hiru Media Network  Rayynor Silva.

Arrangements have been made to pay homage to the historic Mahiyanganaya Chaitya and the devotees, will have the opportunity to participate in the event today.

The Hiru 'Shraddhabhi Vandana' program concludes with the incense offering to the Mahiyanganaya temple, and the Adhishtana Pooja held at the historic Mahiyanganaya Rajamaha Viharaya.

Arrangements have been made to bring all these programmes live on Hiru TV throughout the day.
