Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Thilaka Jayasundara, has directed officials to conduct an urgent investigation regarding the General Public Examination question paper given to Advanced Level students at Kalutara C. W. W. Kannangara Central College. This follows allegations that the exam paper included five questions related to a political party.

In a statement, Jayasundara clarified that the question paper, which has sparked public concern, was created independently by the school and not by the ministry or any other affiliated institution. She assured that appropriate measures would be taken after the ministry-level investigation.
