BRIBERY COMMISSION INDICTS FORMER MINISTER CHANDRANI BANDARA

BRIBERY+COMMISSION+INDICTS+FORMER+MINISTER+CHANDRANI+BANDARA+
The Bribery Commission has filed an indictment in the Colombo High Court against former Minister Chandrani Bandara. 
 

The charges centre on the alleged improper appointment of H.M. Chandrawansa as the Project Director of the Ministry of Dry Zone Development. 

 

Additionally, Bandara is accused of using her influence to illegally appoint associates to various positions while serving as the Minister of Women and Child Affairs and Dry Zone Development. 

 

The indictment contains 11 charges, filed under the Bribery Act, for alleged offences committed between January 14, 2019, and January 31, 2019. 

 

The prosecution has listed eight individuals as witnesses and submitted 25 documents as evidence in the case.
