Professor Pararajasingam Pradeepan has officially assumed duties today (17) as the 11th Vice-Chancellor of Eastern University.
His appointment follows an interview process conducted by the University Council two months ago.
From 8 applicants, Professor Pradeepan and 2 other candidates were shortlisted in the first round.
This list was then sent to the University Grants Commission, which subsequently forwarded the names to the President for the final selection, who then appointed Professor Pradeepan this afternoon.
