The Sri Lanka Navy dispatched the naval ship, SLNS Samudura, on October 24, 2025, to rescue the crew of the cargo vessel MV INTEGRITY STAR, which was reported to be in distress approximately 100 nautical miles south of Sri Lanka due to a technical defect in its main engines.


The Sri Lanka Navy is immediately launching Search and Rescue (SAR) operations, coordinated by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC).


Accordingly, the SLNS Samudura is currently sailing towards the distressed vessel's location to rescue the crew of 14 personnel, which consists of Indian, Turkish, and Azerbaijani nationals.
