Sources have said that Governor Arlekar has refused to administer the oath of office to TVK leader Vijay under the present circumstances.
“There is no majority for TVK to form a government in Tamil Nadu. Vijay cannot be accepted as Chief Minister without proving majority support," the Lok Bhavan sources told NDTV.
According to sources, Governor Arlekar has decided that Vijay will be sworn in as chief minister only if he proves that he has the required majority.
“If Vijay proves he has the numbers, the governor will invite him to form the government the very next minute,” sources at Lok Bhavan said.
Sources further stated that the governor is firm on ensuring a stable government is formed in Tamil Nadu.
