India A secured a narrow 8-run victory over Sri Lanka A in the opening match of the tri-nation one-day series held today (09) at the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.

Batting first after winning the toss, India A posted a competitive total of 277 for 6 in their allotted 50 overs.

In reply, Sri Lanka A put up a strong fight that went down to the final stages, but were eventually bowled out for 269 in 48.5 overs.

Sri Lanka’s innings ended when Mohammad Shiraz was dismissed, sealing the win for India A. Arshad Khan was the standout bowler for India A, taking 2 wickets for 24 runs.
