England right-hander Harry Brook has replaced teammate Joe Root at the top and returned to the No.1 spot on the latest ICC Men's Test Batter Rankings.

Brook regains his place at the top of the Test charts on the back of his half-century during the first innings of a low-scoring ICC World Test Championship fixture against New Zealand at Lord's that England managed to win by 115 runs.

The right-hander was one of only two players to surpass 50 during the Test, with his innings of 56 enough to overtake Root and claim the premier position for Test batters.

Root could only manage innings of one and eight across the Test, with Brook reclaiming the premier position that he first rose to back in December 2024.

Australia's Travis Head rises to second on the list for Test batters, with Root dropping down to third ahead of the second Test between England and New Zealand at The Oval from June 17.

There was further movement on the rankings for Test batters with India's Shubman Gill gaining two places to move to eighth following his century in Afghanistan, while Ben Duckett (up three rungs to 15th), Jamie Smith (up five spots to equal 23rd) and Glenn Phillips (up 15 places to 40th) all make ground following decent efforts at Lord's.

The other big mover on the Test rankings is England quick Gus Atkinson, with the pacer gaining seven spots to move to 10th overall for Test bowlers and improving two rungs to rise to sixth for Test all-rounders.

Returning pacers Kyle Jamieson (22nd) and Ollie Robinson (23rd) re-enter the Test bowler rankings following a lengthy break from red-ball cricket, as New Zealand -seamer Nathan Smith gains 16 slots to improve to 43rd.

There are also some changes on the latest ODI rankings, with Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed the big winner after his side's recent series triumph over Australia.

Abrar collected six wickets for the series and was rewarded for his consistency as he gained two spots to move to second for ODI bowlers, while teammate Shaheen Afridi rose four places to ninth following his seven scalps across the three matches.

Australia's Nathan Ellis improved 13 spots to 31st as he matched Afridi's seven wickets across the series, while rising Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana jumps up 23 slots to move to 24th following his four-wicket haul in the series opener with the Aussies in Mirpur.

Sri Lanka duo Kusal Mendis (up four slots to equal 12th) and Janith Liyanage (up six rungs to 22nd) are the big winners on the updated list for ODI batters, while Bangladesh left-hander Tanzid Hasan (up seven places to 33rd) also makes gains in this category.
