Minister of Rural Development Dr. Upali Pannilage stated that, unlike previous governments, Samurdhi employees have not been used for political activities and that an environment has been created where public servants can work with dignity.
He made these remarks while addressing the 29th National Convention of the All-Ceylon Samurdhi Managers’ Association.
The Minister further said that the current government has resolved several issues faced by employees of the Samurdhi Development Department within a very short period.
He added that issues related to pensions, salary surcharges, salary codes, and disciplinary investigations involving certain employees have been expedited and resolved.
Dr. Pannilage further emphasised that steps have been taken to address these matters efficiently and ensure fair treatment for the workforce.
