Brandix has donated a much-needed electrocardiogram (ECG) machine to the Emergency Department of the Mirigama Base Hospital, significantly enhancing the hospital's ability to provide timely cardiac care to patients.
The hospital had been facing difficulties due to the lack of an ECG machine, resulting in delays in diagnosing patients. Many had to travel long distances and incur additional costs to obtain ECG tests at other medical facilities.
Hospital authorities said the donation has significantly improved emergency care services and is expected to help save many lives by enabling faster diagnosis and treatment.
Brandix, Sri Lanka's leading apparel manufacturer, has been a strong supporter of the country's healthcare sector for more than two decades. The company is also Sri Lanka's largest corporate blood donor, having supported blood donation initiatives and community healthcare programmes across the island for over 14 consecutive years.
Brandix Senior General Manager Nirmal Perera said the company has consistently implemented meaningful community development initiatives through programmes such as the Model Villages Programme, focusing on improving healthcare, education and social wellbeing in communities across the country.
