The 10th Navy Open Shooting Championship 2026, organised by the Sri Lanka Navy, was successfully concluded at the Welisara Navy Shooting Complex.

The Championship, which was held from July 1 to 12, held the awards ceremony yesterday (18) at the Commander Parakrama Samaraweera Memorial Indoor Sports Complex of SLNS Gemunu presided by the Commander of the Navy.

Over 900 sportsmen and sportswomen representing the Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Air Force and Sri Lanka Police, as well as numerous shooting sports clubs in the island, participated in this year's tournament, and over 800 of the participants were school sportsmen and sportswomen, which became a prominent highlight of the tournament, the Navy stated.

According to the Navy the tournament proved once again to be an important platform to polish the talents of school sportsmen and sportswomen, and to produce future national and international level champions.

The sportsmen and sportswomen of the Sri Lanka Navy shooting pool displayed excellent skills and managed to secure numerous medals amid the intense level of competition of the tournament, the Navy noted.
