A total of 138,730 tourists arrived in the country thus far in the month of July, data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority shows.
India remains the primary source market, contributing 31,734 tourists and accounting for 23.0% of total arrivals for the month. Official statistics reveal that Sri Lanka also welcomed 14,949 visitors from the United Kingdom, 8,484 from China, 8,415 from the Netherlands, and 7,419 from Australia during July.
These figures build upon the strong performance of July 2025, when a total of 200,244 tourists visited the island nation.
Cumulative arrivals for 2026 reached 1,285,303 following the release of the latest July statistics. Year-to-date figures show India leading overall arrivals with 325,417 visitors, followed by 123,526 from the United Kingdom and 84,655 from China.
