The adverse weather has affected 2,331 persons belonging to 581 families in 05 Divisional Secretariat divisions of Nuwara Eliya District, Nuwara Eliya District Secretary Thushari Thennakoon said.
06 persons went missing due to this adverse weather condition by around 4 p.m. today (03), the District Secretary mentions.
Among these disappearances, 02 persons were caught in floods and the number of persons missing due to landslides is 04, she mentioned.
There are three persons injured in this incident, she added.
1,743 persons belonging to 439 affected families are currently housed in 07 safe centres and are provided them with necessary relief measures, the District Secretary stated.
