The Colombo and Kalutara District competitions of the 55th Hiru John Tarbat Junior Athletics Championship were held for the third consecutive day today at the Bandaragama Public Grounds.
The Sri Lanka Schools Athletics Association organised this John Tarbat Junior Athletics Championship under the approval and supervision of the Ministry of Education, supported by the full sponsorship of the Hiru Media Network.
The Colombo and Kalutara district competitions of the Championship took place across three days, and events were held under four age categories today on the third and final day of the tournament.
Over 3,500 athletes from 236 schools participated.
Totally, 24 events were held today - the final day of the competition.
Events were held under several age categories including Under-12, Under-13, Under-14, and Under-15, and the track events of the tournament attracted the most attention.
Accordingly, the athletes who secured victories in these events will qualify for the John Tarbat Junior Athletics Championship.
