The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers may occur in the Uva province and in the Ampara, Batticaloa, and Mullaitivu districts after 2:00 p.m.
Fairly strong winds of up to 30 to 40 kilometres per hour can be expected in the North-Central, North-Western, Central, and Southern provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee district.
Fisher and naval communities are advised not to venture into the sea areas off the coast extending from Matara to Potuvil via Hambantota until further notice, as these waters can be rough or very rough at times.
The Department of Meteorology requested vigilance as the sea areas off the coast extending from Batticaloa to Chilaw via Trincomalee, Kankesanthurai, and Mannar, and from Galle to Matara can also be rough at times.
