The Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc establishes a new world record, becoming the most successful left-arm bowler in world Test cricket history.

Starc crossed his 434th Test milestone by dismissing Bangladeshi opening batsman Shadman Islam during the Test match being played against Bangladesh in Darwin.

Accordingly, Starc managed to claim ownership of the record of 433 Test wickets previously held by veteran Sri Lankan spin bowler Rangana Herath.

Herath previously occupied the first place by taking 433 wickets in 93 Test matches during the period from 1999 to 2018.

The Australian team, who won the toss and batted first in today's (13) match, scored 198 runs all out, and this entered the record books as Australia's lowest score against Bangladesh in Test history.
