The Department of Meteorology issued a warning announcement regarding severe lightning.
Accordingly, the department announced that there is a possibility of severe lightning along with thundershowers in places in the Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu districts during the evening or night.
Meanwhile, fairly heavy rain above 75 millimetres may occur in some places today in the Uva, Central, and Eastern provinces, as well as in the Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu districts.
