The Department of Archaeology says that the Road Development Authority will be informed to take necessary actions regarding a crack that has appeared in the rock tunnel in Kadugannawa.
A team led by the Assistant Director of Archaeology in the Central Province is scheduled to visit the site today to check it.
Speaking to our news team, the Director General of the Department of Archaeology, P. B. Mandawala stated that necessary action will be taken based on their observations.
The area residents said that the RDA carried out renovation work in the tunnel.
They said however, the RDA had ignored the cracks which were there.
