Acting director general of health services Dr. S. Sridaran has issued instructions to the public to follow when visiting hospitalized patients.
In a statement, he says such visits should be restricted to a minimum.
During the visits, health measures such as hand-washing, observing one metre distance and wearing face-masks should be strictly followed.
Instead of handing over items to the patient in person, alternative methods should be undertaken, the statement adds.
