Swarna Kahawita leaves the stage of life

Veteran award winning actress Swarna Kahawita has passed away.

She was 76 years old at the time of her death after a long illness.

She made her film debut in the Vesathuru Siritha film and won the Best Actress award at the Sarasavi Awards for her performance in the film Binaramali.

Swarna Kahawita's body will be laid at a private funeral home in Borella this afternoon. The last rites will be performed at the Borella Public Cemetery tomorrow.
