Former President Maithripala Sirisena has left his official residence on Hector Kobbekaduwa Mawatha in Colombo.
The move follows the enactment of the Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Act, No. 18 of 2025.
The new legislation, which became law yesterday (10), eliminates special privileges previously given to past presidents, their widows, and retired members of parliament.
Following its passage in Parliament, Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne signed the bill, certifying it as law.
