The Kalutara United Traders' Association has launched a town beautification project, coinciding with Local Government Week. Under this initiative, the association will install 100 flower pots on Galle Road, spanning from Sirikurusa Junction to Katukurunda Junction.
To mark the launch, flower saplings were planted by Ms. Deepani Silva, a Kalutara Municipal Councillor for the National People's Power (NPP) and a veteran actress, along with Mr. S.A.D. Nilantha, a Municipal Councillor for the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB).
The event was attended by several officials and representatives, including Kalutara Mayor Danuj Somaratne, Municipal Commissioner Piyumali Kularatne, and Municipal Council Secretary K.M. Abeysekara. The Chairman and Secretary of the Kalutara United Traders' Association, Ranga Manoj and Mahendra Perera, were also present, along with numerous municipal councillors from both the government and opposition parties, and members of the association.
