Police seek public help to identify unknown body washed ashore

Pamunugama Police are seeking public assistance to identify an unknown body that washed ashore in the Vahattiyagoda coastal area today (23).

Police initiated an investigation after receiving a complaint about the body from the 119 emergency service. A magisterial inquiry was conducted, and the post-mortem examination was carried out at the Ragama Hospital.

The identity of the deceased remains unconfirmed.

The public is urged to provide any information that could help identify the body by contacting the Pamunugama Police Station.
