Today (18) marks the 80th birthday of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
To mark the occasion, a special blessing ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Temple of the Tooth Relic this afternoon.
It is also stated that an alms-giving will be offered to the Buddhist clergy tomorrow (19) at the Temple of the Tooth Relic premises.
An alms-giving ceremony for one hundred Buddhist monks was held at the Carlton House in Tangalle on Sunday to commemorate the former President's birthday.
