1000+ bus journeys cancelled

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has been forced to cancel almost 1,500 bus journeys across the country due to road closures and blockages caused by the disaster situation resulting from Cyclone Ditwah.

Approximately 15,000 passengers had reserved seats on the cancelled services.

The seat reservation service confirmed that all passengers affected by the cancellations are entitled to reschedule their tickets for any other preferred date without incurring any additional charges.

At present, bus services remain suspended for destinations including Nuwara Eliya, Nawalapitiya, Walapane, Muttur, and Bibile, along with Route 87 to Jaffna.

The SLTB confirmed that services to all other destinations have resumed, and seat reservations for those routes are now available.
