Former additional Government Analyst further remanded

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court ordered the former additional Government Analyst, who was arrested by the Bribery Commission on corruption charges and held in remand custody, to be further remanded until December 22.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama issued the order after considering submissions made by officials from the Bribery Commission and the suspect's lawyers.

The Magistrate issued the directive after the Bribery Commission submitted that they require more time to record statements from witnesses related to this investigation.

The suspect was arrested by the Bribery Commission for allegedly accepting a bribe of over Rs. 6.7 million by issuing favourable accident-related vehicle reports to a private insurance company.
