Sri Lanka’s earnings from workers' remittances surpassed $8 billion in 2025.
According to Central Bank data, the figure stood at $8.076 billion, a 22.8% increase compared to $6.5 billion recorded in 2024.
In December last year alone, $879 million were earned from workers’ remittances.
Tourism income in 2025 meanwhile stood at $3.2 billion.
