Energy Minister Kumar Jayakody was ordered to be released on bail by the Colombo High Court today (27) following the serving of indictments.
High Court Judge Rashantha Godawela ordered the defendant to be released on two personal bails of Rs. 1 million each.
Additionally, the judge ordered the retrieval of the defendant's fingerprint records.
The Bribery Commission filed this case against the Minister for allegedly committing the offence of corruption under Section 70(b) of the Bribery Act.
The charge involves causing an unlawful profit and advantage to a private company while serving at the Fertiliser Corporation in 2015.
