Hundreds arrested during island-wide narcotics operations

A total of 512 suspects were arrested yesterday (02) following the inspection of 29,033 individuals during island-wide anti-crime and narcotics operations, the Police Media Division announced.

Special operations covering all regional police stations at the divisional level are being implemented to prevent crime and drug trafficking, according to the Police Media Division.

During these special operations, 4,498 individuals were taken into custody for traffic violations and other offences.

Furthermore, investigations conducted across the island led to the arrest of 110 suspects for reckless driving and 115 for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Officers also managed to apprehend 10 individuals directly identified for involvement in crimes and 136 persons with open warrants during this special drive.

These ongoing efforts to arrest suspects linked to criminal activities across the country are being carried out under the instructions of the Inspector General of Police, the Police Media Division further stated.
