15 suspects detained in massage center raids

The suspects, aged between 21 and 35, were taken into custody during a coordinated police operation.

The two arrested men reportedly functioned as managers of the establishments.

Investigations revealed that the women involved in sex work traveled from distant areas such as Ratnapura, Galenbindunuwewa, and Polonnaruwa to work at these locations.

The centers operated 24 hours a day, with illegal activities peaking during nighttime.

Acting on a tip-off received by the Kottawa Police OIC, authorities obtained a search warrant from the court to conduct the raids.

At the time of the entry, several clients were present seeking services.

Following their production in court, the suspects were released on bail.

Police are currently searching for the owners of these massage centers, where women were reportedly sold for prices ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000.
