The Energy Minister should step down immediately if the public mandate is respected, and the government must not defend him, stated Samagi Jana Balawegaya Kalutara District MP Ajith P. Perera.
He made these remarks while commencing the debate on the no-confidence motion against the Energy Minister in Parliament today (10).
All 159 members of this government cannot stand for this fraud if they respect the mandate of the people in this country, the MP further added.
The Auditor General’s report also states that the method of awarding the tender was wrong.
Therefore, the selected tender is wrong, and the related facts are also wrong.
Neither the Minister nor the government listened when these issues were first questioned in Parliament and discussed in society.
They constantly claimed that what they did was correct.
Today, every report indicates that this fraud occurred.
