50 foreign nationals stayed in the country illegally after their business visas expired and now face custody following a raid by Department of Immigration and Emigration officials.
The investigation unit conducted the raid on a private residence in Negombo after receiving a tip-off regarding the group's presence.
Among those detained, 47 are Chinese nationals, while the remaining three individuals are of other foreign nationalities.
