A formal complaint was filed with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption today (23) by the New People's Front against Agriculture Minister K.D. Lal Kantha. The allegation centers on the unauthorized occupation of state property within the Madiwela Member of Parliament housing complex for a period of 14 years.
Lal Kantha served as a Member of Parliament from December 19, 2001, until February 9, 2010. The front claims that despite losing his parliamentary seat, he continued to reside in housing unit D-10 at the Madiwela complex—a facility reserved exclusively for active MPs—from 2010 until 2024.
