A sudden fire broke out on the second floor of the Inland Revenue Department's regional office in Kalutara tonight (30) around 8:00 PM.
According to our correspondent, the Kalutara Municipal Council’s fire brigade responded immediately and managed to bring the blaze under control.
The fire reportedly originated in the section housing the computer systems on the second floor.
While the extent of the property damage has not yet been assessed, investigations are ongoing.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. The Kalutara South Police and the Municipal Council fire department are conducting further inquiries into the incident.
